Throwback to Singapore!

Over the last few decades, Singapore has become one of the most popular tourist destinations. I visited Singapore in 2010 for new years. It turned out to be of one of the most memorable vacations that I have ever had. Unlike most of the other Asian countries Singapore is very well organised and has an excellent transportation system. There is so much to do in this small country that i wish i was able to spend some more time there.

My best friend Purvi and I arrived in Singapore on the 24th of December 2010, all set to celebrate Christmas and New years! We were staying at my aunts place, which is close by to Orchard road, which is one of the major attractions in the city. On the same night, we visited the Orchird Garden where christmas trees from all over the world were sent. They were decorated so well and resembled each country so well.

Soon after this we took the 'SIA hop- on bus' and we stopped at almost all of the stops. This is a air conditioned bus that lets you hop on and hop off at any designated stop, this is a good way of covering most of the attractions of the country. We stopped at places like Little India, China Town, Arab Street and major shopping malls. Bugis Street is a paradise for shoppers. We shopped, bargained, and were back home with bags and bags of clothes and accessories.

On the third day we went to the Sentosa Island. We saw Underwater world, Dolphin lagoon, Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom Museum, The Merlion area and Songs Of the sea. 'Songs of the sea' is a musical fountain show that takes place in the evening when it gets a little dark, this is a must see on the Island, it was the best show that i've ever seen of this kind. I did the indoor sky-diving at Ifly after  brief tutorial which they provide with , and I loved it. got myself clicked while sky-diving and got it home as a souvenir.

I spent my 31st night under the Singapore view at a small pub playing Bollywood music. The firecrackers at midnight is awesome and worth watching. On the 1st of January, we were at Jurong Bird Park and The Singapore Zoo. The night safari is really worth watching.

I loved Singapore, its a perfect destination for a holiday!
